OLOL Emergency Department and East Tower Addition
A 10 story addition was built on the old Mary Bird Perkins site of the Our Lady of the Lake main hospital location. The current Level 1 Trauma Center was upgraded and expanded with the insertion of an elevated helipad as well. WTC performed den glass sheathing and damp-proofing. This allowed a decrease in costs of hundreds of thousands of dollars to the owner, while saving months from the original schedule.
Additional Information
Special scaffolding support systems were designed and engineered by WTC. This involved the use of temporary structural steel, adjustable bracing, and elevations over roof tops due to in use medical buildings.
Materials Used:
- Brick – 640,000 units of Acme Rosebud bricks
- Cast Stone- Various column capitals, straight copings, radius copings and fountain assemblies from Advanced Cast Stone
- Cultured Stone – 2,400 square feet of Eldorado Stone
- CMU – 3,500 units of Capitol Concrete CMU
- Sheathing and Damp-proofing – 106,752 square feet of Densglass Sheathing and Hydrocide 700B
