South Plaquemines Elementary School

SPES is a 105,000 square foot, two story building with concrete masonry unit construction and brick veneer exterior.  The exterior is also enhanced with over 1100 LF of Face Brick/Cast Stone ramp walls rising up to a first floor elevation greater than 17 feet.  The school has science & computer labs, a media center, classrooms and a gym for Pre-K through 6th grade. 

Materials Used:    

• Brick - 420,000 units 
• Cast Stone - 1100+ LF ramp walls, column capitals, copings 
• CMU - 70,000 units 
• Ground Faced Units - 35,000 units
